It seems that the little plum teapot has picked up some new habits during her travels. Do you remember how she went "estate sale shopping" while she was visiting Karen last April? If you recall, she helped pick up three pretty pink depression glass plates.
It seems she has not forgotten the fun of the hunt, and when we were on our way to the farm market we saw a sign for a yard sale just a few doors down the road. The plum teapot seemed to say "Stop! There might be something that we really need!" I suppose the "need" part of the statement could be debated, but there were some wonderful bargains there for anyone who loves afternoon tea.
Little plum teapot happily shared the back seat of the car with some new tea-time treasures.
First, an elegant teapot caught her eye. Having a beautiful BFF to help her pour tea sounded like so much fun! This Ellgreave Burslem, England teapot appears to be vintage 1930. Ten dollars later it was added to the tea collection. It has a pretty square shape and the roses and gold embellishments make it appear so cheerful and happy to pour. Each of the teacups were offered for $5.00 each. It was so hard to choose! Only a few were left behind. Take a look and you'll see why.

Pretty vessels with which to sip tea are important to any tea drinker. Some like English bone china while others prefer a bowl or gaiwan. But, whatever the vessel, it holds importance and distinction in the service of afternoon tea. I'm glad that the little plum teapot learned to stop and enjoy a good yard & estate sale! Thanks, Karen!

I'm so impressed with your finds and the fabulous prices. Your a great team of estate sale shoppers. Each teacup and saucer is more lovely then the next! Love the teapot's new companion teapot, she's a beauty and couldn't go to a better tea person.
