Or, There is No Such Thing as a Free Brunch!
After spending time resting and relaxing, The Traveling Teapot is learning the Reali-Tea of living at The Amherst Rose Tea Room. The little purple pot must earn her keep here and is learning to assist in serving our guests.
On Sunday, she assisted me in the kitchen and learned how to pour the pancake batter to make Vanilla Bean Pancakes for the DH and me. This helped her learn her way around the kitchen and by the time she leaves here she will have "mad skills" and will be quite useful to all of the Traveling Teapot hosts. I hope to teach her many things and give her a wonderful learning experience here.

A delightful post, Mary Jane. I am positive the traveling teapot is enjoying her stay in your home. How appropriate to post a "first flush" tea into your beautiful "Kensington Palace" teacup on Mother's Day! I look forward to more teatime adventures!
What fun! In this day and age, it's important to be able to perform several skills... and pouring pancake batter is a good way to start. Loved your photos!
Mary Jane what a fun way to start the day with pancakes poured from the happy little traveling teapot The Kensington Palace teacup is lovely. What a nice treasure from your own travels.
Fun post!
This plum teapot is certainly having some fun adventures. Wow! Learning to pour pancake batter and then serve a special tea into your Kensington Palace teacup. Wonderful post!
yes, having a variety of skills is the way to go! pouring pan cake batter is a very novel idea, also loved the kensington palace tea cup, so lovely! andrea
What a shame for the Traveling Teapot! It is for tea not pancake batter. She has been used for entertaining. If "she" needs to go to work, let her learn to boil water and properly steep different teas for goodness sake! Judy
Oh I think we all need many skills these days to get along. I never thought of using a teapot to pour from or cook with- but an interesting idea- and I bet it pours batter beautifully. Just don't use a yixing pot to serve soy sauce, as a friend of mine did.
